Karen L. Sacasky
Karen grew up on a farm in western Iowa spending her free time outdoors discovering the world around her. Upon purchasing her first home in Denver, she tilled up part of her back yard for a vegetable garden and started rearranging the landscape. She and her husband, Bob, reside in Amherst County, Va where she has plenty of space to pursue her gardening passion. She grows many varieties of plants to discover what grows well in the Piedmont area.
Karen has been deeply involved in the Virginia Master Gardener program since 1991 serving in many capacities. She is a member of the Hill City Master Gardener Association and the Virginia Master Gardener Association. She is a recipient of the State Friend of Extension Award and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Conservation Award.
